What's new in Tenable OT Security 4.1: Future-proof security and control for complex environments

The latest version of Tenable OT Security delivers powerful new capabilities to enhance security operations, strengthen compliance, and provide deeper visibility across the extended attack surface – IT, OT, and IoT. This release introduces key enhancements designed to help security teams streamline security workflows, improve network visibility, and future-proof their security posture.

What’s new in Tenable OT Security 4.1?

  • Streamlined security ops: Unify visibility across silos, optimize workflows, and speed investigations with instant access to OT data from Tenable One. Oversee multiple sites without the need to re-authenticate. Enhance security and control while breaking down silos between IT and OT teams with role-based access permissions.
    • Note: This feature is available to Tenable OT Security Enterprise Manager customers and those with at least one (1) ICP hardware device.
  • Tenable AI Aware detection for CPS: Detect, monitor, and mitigate AI-related risks to cyber-physical systems with actionable threat intelligence. Identify unauthorized AI usage with passive network monitoring and security testing. Detect AI-related vulnerabilities in software, libraries, and browser plugins. Gain visibility into AI development across the enterprise, tracking assets, and communication ports commonly used by AI technologies.
  • Expanded network visibility: Improve asset inventory accuracy, eliminate blind spots, and maintain a clear view of network topology across complex and distributed environments with the ability to assign dedicated sensors to overlapping IP networks.
  • NERC-CIP compliance: Map your security posture to NERC-CIP and other relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIS2, CAF, OTCC, ISO 27001) in the Compliance Dashboard with clear insights and reporting tools to streamline audit and compliance.
  • Advanced support for electrical substations: Automate audits and detect threats in real-time with advanced support for IEC 61850 standards.
  • Enhanced Nessus VM scan controls: Fine-tune scans with new controls:
    • Thorough tests for deeper system assessments.
    • Higher verbosity for richer scan data.
    • Performance tuning options for scan concurrency, target limits, and timeouts.
  • Centralized software updates for ICPs: Simplify security administration with the ability to remotely update your Tenable ICP hardware devices and push bulk software and/or operating system updates across multiple sites from within Tenable OT Security Enterprise Manager (requires Tenable OT Security 4.0 or later).
