Integration Status Plugin Support for Nutanix and Red Hat Satellite Server 6

Summary

Tenable is announcing the release of Integration Status Plugin support for Nutanix Prism Central and Red Hat Satellite Server 6 Integrations. The purpose of this plugin is to provide users with helpful information regarding the success or failure when using one of these integrations. This gives users a simple way to check on the status of the integration success without having to enable plugin debugging on a per-host basis. Additionally, it improves scan review and performance. In the event that integration status failed, the user can enable plugin debugging, re-scan, and review logs associated with a particular integration for more detail.

Scope

Nutanix Prism Central:

Customers can expect to see success and failure based on Tenable’s ability to collect cluster information from the Nutanix Prism Central API host. Tenable relies on the collection of cluster information to automatically add hypervisors and virtual machines as scannable targets. In addition, Tenable collects data such as version information on these targets to be used for vulnerability detections. This success or failure will be seen on the initial host in the target settings. Integration Status plugin reporting on targets automatically added to the scan will consist of how that target relates to the integration; with a reference to Nutanix Data Collection plugin reporting that lists attributes gathered during the scan.

Red Hat Satellite Server 6:

Customers can now see success and failure based on Tenable’s ability to collect package information from the RedHat Satellite Server (RHSS) API host. Tenable leverages RHSS to determine the ability to read packages on a designated target. The integration reports whether RHSS can communicate with target, determine target’s identity, determine target architecture, enumerate installed packages, and runs local checks on target.

Impact

There is no impact to existing scans. If users encounter issues, please open a ticket with Technical Support.
