CVE-2020-9819, CVE-2020-9819: Apple Releases Software Updates to Address Two Critical Vulnerabilities in Mail App

Last month, we published a community post about a pair of critical vulnerabilities in Apple’s iOS/iPadOS Mail app that were reportedly exploited in the wild. This was based on a blog post from ZecOps, a digital forensics and incident response firm. At the time, no patches were generally available, though fixes were included in iOS 13.4.5, which was only available to users in Apple’s Beta Software Program.

On May 20, Apple released software updates to address both vulnerabilities, which are now generally available. The vulnerabilities are now identified as CVE-2020-9818 and CVE-2020-9819.
