Microsoft’s April 2023 Patch Tuesday Addresses 97 CVEs

On April 11, Microsoft released its April 2023 Patch Tuesday release, addressing 97 CVEs with seven rated as critical and 90 rated as important.

This month’s release includes a fix for CVE-2023-28252, an elevation of privilege (EoP) vulnerability in Microsoft Windows Common Log File System (CLFS) Driver that was exploited in the wild as a zero day. It is a post-compromise flaw, meaning an attacker could exploit it after gaining access to a vulnerable target. It is the second CLFS EoP vulnerability disclosed in 2023, and the fourth in the last two years.
