Microsoft’s January 2023 Patch Tuesday Addresses 98 CVEs
On January 10, Microsoft released its January 2023 Patch Tuesday release which patched 98 CVEs with 11 rated as critical and 87 rated as important.
Microsoft patched CVE-2023-21674, an elevation of privilege vulnerability in Windows Advanced Local Procedure Call (ALPC), a message passing utility in Windows operating systems. Microsoft says this vulnerability was exploited in the wild as a zero day. When exploited, an attacker can leverage the vulnerability to break out of the sandbox in Chromium and gain kernel-level execution privileges.
