Tenable Research Publishes 2022 Threat Landscape Report

On February 28, Tenable Research published its third-annual Threat Landscape Report (TLR). This report analyzes the major vulnerabilities and security incidents that marked 2022 in order to provide insights and guidance on how we can tackle emerging threats, including known vulnerabilities in the supply chain, how transparency and misconfigurations impact cloud security, and the evolving state of ransomware.

The report is divided into three sections:

  • Section one explores the vulnerability landscape and notable events including Log4Shell, notable vulnerabilities and supply chain concerns along with discussion of Microsoft Exchange vulnerabilities, and cloud security issues and misconfigurations.
  • Section two explores the events that shaped the threat landscape including nation state activity, the evolution of the ransomware ecosystem and an examination of data breach events and key takeaways.
  • Section three is a digest of the major vulnerabilities from the year.

With an ever evolving threat and vulnerability landscape, this report aims to help reduce your organization’s exposure by identifying and remediating the vulnerabilities and misconfigurations observed throughout the year.

Alongside the report, Tenable has released pre-configured scan templates to help you scan for the mentioned vulnerabilities. Scan templates are available in Tenable One, Tenable.io Vulnerability Management, Tenable.sc, Nessus Professional and Nessus Expert.

Tenable One, Tenable.io Vulnerability Management and Tenable.sc customers can also access new dashboards and widgets covering the 2022 Threat Landscape Report.

You can read more about the TLR in by visiting our blog. You can get your copy of the report here.
