Thank you for implementing this fix! We are currently in the process of testing this plugin in our environment and so far it's been working great.

What is the best way to update/install this new version? Should I uninstall the older plugin from JIRA first?

There are full instructions here: https://docs.tenable.com/integrations/jira/Content/upgrade.htm, but basically you just need to upload the updated plugin for your version of jira, and re-save your credentials on the configuration page.
