Enhanced Oracle Java Detection on Windows

Nessus Plugin 33545 identifies Oracle Java Runtime Environments (JREs) on Windows platforms. Improvements have been made to detect legacy versions of Oracle Java (1.4.2 and older) including improved detection on older versions of the Windows operating system. On some of these versions, the JRE executable does not contain version information, but that information is available from the registry.

Impact

Customers should expect more accurate identification of older Oracle Java installs, potentially resulting in additional vulnerability reports.
